Science looks backwards to go forwards

Where are the missing kWh?
They are at work
Supplying the hidden heat
To our glaciers
A melt at a time.

And when the ice is done
And fresh water fills the seas,
Flipping densities
And halting the warming currents,
Then we will care
Where the heat was hiding.
Hiding the heat is in 'I heard the river laugh'

Historians and philosophers are helping scientists come to terms with the future, which actually means, the extinction of our society as we know it. I admit, it will happen. The corporate lobbying by big energy companies, the spread of gas guzzlers, despite all we know, means it is a certainty. Capitalism is not prepared to take a hit for our futures, and nor are we, despite all we know.

Some people will survive and start again, but it will take thousands of years before society re-emerges.

I discovered the medium of the Chapbook. These are slim volumes of 40 or so pages, with tiny pieces of flash fiction, with a linked theme. 40 pages is more than is necessary for a chapbook, but fewer pages are difficult to print and bind on demand.

I have did two chapbooks in 2024. One publisher told me they are too depressing. So even Armageddon has to be fun these days.

As always, the PDF files are available free of charge. Just contact me through the WordPress contact portal.

Time to make? Minutes, really.
Time to digest? An eternity comes to mind.
